Project Management
Below please find an overview on the functionality and beenfits the Project Management Module of the SAP Solution Manager offers you :
Implementation, Rollout and Template Projects
- Projects
Projects in the SAP Solution Manager are typically Implementation, Template, Rollout, Upgrade or Maintenance Projects. Maintenance projects are only used in conjunction with Change Management.
- ASAP Roadmap
In Solution Manager is a variety of ASAP roadmaps, like project plans, available for your project. These are tailored for specific project types, like implementations, rollout, template or upgrade projects. Roadmaps can also be tailored by system landscape or scope, for example for CRM, BW, ERP, NetWeaver, Portal or other specific systems. In addition, you can tailor own roadmaps for your organisation and use them for projects. You can also assign Issues to each item, which will be managed via the Service Desk and are fully integrated into the Change Management.
- Business Blueprint Phase
In the Business blueprint transaction, SOLAR01, you structure you business processes in accordance with Scenarios, Business Processes, Business Process Steps, Master Data and Organisational Structure. You can than assign project documentation like blueprints etc., transactions, test cases and end user roles on each level. You can also assign Issues to each item, which will be managed via the Service Desk and are fully integrated into the Change Management
- SAP best practice business process repository
The SAP best practice business process repository is a important set of pre-defined best practise processes including not only processes, structures and transactions, but also required configuration links and has proven to be extremely helpful.
- Business Process Management
To initially define your business blueprint, you might can use tools and services like our re-engineering service or RBE+ re-engineering, ARIS for Solution Manager or BPM Exchange, to integrate Solution Manager with MS-Visio and other tools. Once the processes have been defined, you can maintain them on an ongoing base with the tools outlined above.
- Business Process Change Analyzer
Changes to the system, for example, Support Packages, customer developments or add-on installations can affect different business processes. Business Process Change Analyzer compares the objects included in a transport to the objects contained in the TBOMs (technical bill of material) of the target system. Since every TBOM is clearly assigned to a certain transaction in a certain scenario, business process or process step, you can determine precisely, which parts of a Business Process Hierarchy are affected by the change. You can use the test cases contained in the Business Process Hierarchy to create test plans that are tailored to the relevant changes. You can check scheduled changes as well as changes that have already been made.
- Realisation Phase
In the Realisation transaction, SOLAR02, you now fill the project and process structures with more detailed content, e.g. with documentation, the list of required configuration items and all developments (ABAP's, workflow, portal, etc.) for this project. You can also assign Issues to each item, which will be managed via the Service Desk and are fully integrated into the Change Management
- Test Workbench
You use the test workbench to create test plans, test schedules and test packages for individual. They have access to all required data for the testing and can raise defects, which will be managed via the Service Desk and are fully integrated into the Change Management. Also it will give you analysis and statistics and the Test Workbench can be fully integrated with the HP-Quality-Center (HP QC).
